As UMC has grown they have started expanding to larger job sites across the United States, and sometimes needing a larger work boat at the job site. This is when the Erie Diver was created, this catamaran was bought on the small island of Curacao, cut in half and each half was placed in a container and shipped back to the United States. But it was not weld back together, its bolted together. Giving it the ability to split in half to be transported by trailer, because a ship this size normally transportation costs would be tremendous. This 40 foot catamaran is now the perfect work boat as it has tons of deck space and is very agile.
